Waterproof Wall Panels for Bathrooms and Wet Areas
Luca. WetPro is a next-generation waterproof stone composite wall panel for wet areas in Malaysia. Standard widths run 600mm to 950mm, with customizable heights up to 4,000mm for floor-to-ceiling installs. The four-layer construction (5S UV coating, wear layer, HD decor film, rigid SG-8 PVC core with calcium carbonate) is fully waterproof, mould-resistant, anti-scratch, anti-stain, and fire-resistant.
Compared to ceramic tile, WetPro removes the grout problem. The seamless jointed interlocking system leaves only a few near-invisible joints rather than dozens of porous grout lines, and Walton’s published spec saves 60 percent on installation cost and 60 percent on installation time versus traditional tile work.
Common applications in Malaysia include bathrooms, kitchens, toilet and shower zones, F&B service walls, salon and spa interiors, and hospitality back-of-house. The four texture categories (Stone, Tiles, Wood, Fabric) cover most premium commercial and residential briefs, and the eco-friendly zero-formaldehyde core suits green-building projects. Are Luca. WetPro panels fully waterproof?
Yes. WetPro is built around a four-layer construction with a rigid SG-8 PVC and calcium carbonate core, an HD decor film, a wear layer, and a 5S UV coating. The result is a fully waterproof and mould-resistant panel that handles long-term exposure in toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, and other wet areas without absorbing water or breaking down at the surface. Can WetPro panels be installed over existing tiles?
In most cases, yes, depending on the substrate condition. WetPro is light enough and the seamless jointed panels are designed for fast installation onto sound, flat surfaces including existing tile, plasterboard, and plastered masonry walls, which means a renovation can re-skin a wet area without demolishing the old tile underneath. Walton’s published spec is a 60 percent reduction in installation time compared to traditional tile work, which makes WetPro one of the fastest practical options for refreshing tired bathrooms, kitchens, and commercial wet zones.
How does WetPro compare to ceramic tiles for wet areas?
WetPro and ceramic tile both perform in wet areas, but the failure modes are different. Tile depends on grout joints between every tile, and grout is porous, mould-prone, and typically needs re-sealing or replacement every few years.
